Sanctuary was awarded two stars by the Audit Commission and green lights in all key performance areas by the Housing Corporation and has also been awarded the prestigious Code of Practice Certificate by the Centre for Sheltered Housing Studies.

The award

Sanctuary let the works for IRS 5wire Sky plus to Avonline following a thorough selection process. The work started in the South West region in August 2007 with an average block size of 12 dwellings and with no single property seeming to be alike.

The challenges for Avonline have been in ensuring that the surveys once approved match the final installation both technically and aesthetically. The programme ensures that the upgrades on properties are fully operational at least six months prior to the planned switchover date.

As the dedicated project management team moves around the country, preceding the UK digital switchover programme, special attention is paid to those properties requiring an early upgrade due to poor signal reception or maintenance issues. The teams are supported by Avonline’s national help desk which provides information to Avonline engineers and Tenant Liaison Officers in the field.
