Digital Switchover

In 2005, the government announced the final timetable for the Digital Switchover. However, many organisations had already started, or undertaken the initial decision to commence Digital Switchover activities long before this. As a result, Avonline’s Digital Switchover team was established early in the new millennium.

The Switchover specialists

By 2008, our Digital Switchover division had upgraded over 50,000 premises to digital services through the provision of terrestrial and satellite television plus digital and FM radio.

As a result of our extensive experience and our growing client base, we are now the UK’s leading Digital Switchover specialists. We are currently delivering projects all over the UK across a diverse range and size of property portfolios within the public and the social housing sectors.

No project too large

Employing over 750 field-based staff, no Digital project is too large for our team. With UK wide reach, we demonstrate flexibility with timetables and project plans that few others can match.

Where necessary, we always have the flexibility accelerate against plan if required. Equally, if there is a change in circumstances, our portfolio of work usually allows us to slow down a planned work-stream by re-deploying our teams. On receiving instructions to return back to full capacity, we can normally re-group the same familiar, trusted team for you.

After the Switchover?

As far as we’re concerned, a Digital Upgrade programme is just the start of our relationship. Once our teams have demonstrated their skill, flexibility and quality, we confident you’ll find more opportunities to want to work us

No project too small

Normally a small project means an expensive exercise measured as a ‘cost per unit’ - planning & set-up costs, recruitment & training, mobilisation & de-mobilisation – normally all of the fixed project costs that have to be spread across each property in your portfolio.

But with Avonline’s Digital Switchover team, things are different. Because we’re active across the country, incorporating a new programme into our timetable can normally be achieved very efficiently.

By helping customers chose the right technical solution, we’re typically saving money from the outset. In addition, we have our other in-house teams and skill-sets. We can deliver electrical works (NICEIC business and domestic accreditation), CCTV & Door entry solutions. We offer innovative financing schemes, in conjunction with Barclays Bank, and Health & Safety services such as asbestos surveys. By combining the options that you want from one supplier, Avonline can often deliver all of the large project benefits at a cost that works for the smaller portfolio.
